Shanghai Pesticide Research Institute (SPRI), established in March, 1963, is specialized in research and development on pesticides.

The major research and development line of SPRI includes chemical pesticide, bio-pesticide, pesticide intermediate, pesticide standard sample and fine chemicals. SPRI is the technical base for Shanghai Research Center of Bio-Chemical Technology, Ministry of Chemical Industry of China and Shanghai Branch of National Pesticide R&D South Center, and it’s also home to Shanghai Pesticide Quality Supervisory & Test Station and The Pesticide Examination Center of Shanghai. Besides, SPRI is among the high-tech enterprises in Shanghai.

Research on Chemical Synthesis

Specialized in R&D on synthesis process of new pesticides, improvement of production process of available pesticides, research on synthesis process in pesticide intermediates and other fine chemicals.

Research on Bioengineering

Mainly engaged in R&D on agricultural antibiotics and biosynthesis, split, bio-conversion of compounds with enzyme reaction, bioactive screening of new compounds, the mechanism of action, laboratory and field test of new pesticides.
